Hi seniors,
I have a doubt regarding the calculation of bonus. One staff's total salary is 8000/- (Basic pay Rs. 4800 & 3200 allowance). During Dec' 2010, his number of working days was only 10, and he received a salary of Rs. 2581/-. When calculating the bonus for that particular month, what is his eligible salary for the bonus? Is it Rs. 1129/- (3500/31 X 10)?

You have a doubt regarding the calculation of bonus. You should be more concerned about the Basic Salary of the employee, i.e., Rs. 4800. Now come to the calculation of Bonus for the month of Dec-2010. Employee's 10 days Basic Salary would be Rs. 1548 according to his full salary. Salary for bonus would be 1548/4800*3500, i.e., Rs. 1129.
I am working for a Private Ltd. firm in Delhi, and I am using this method for the calculation of the bonus.
