Hi,
Recently, I gave an interview for HDFC Bank and as per the HR and Cluster Manager's confirmation, I was selected for the post of BH. Later, as given by the HR, I filled up the Offer Letter Requisition form and sent it along with my Salary Slips. However, even after 9 days I have not got any further news of Offer/Confirmation from the concerned team.
Meanwhile my Boss of the Current company came to know of this and has already selected a candidate to replace me...The pressure to leave this current job is mounting and the other alternative is still a distant dream. Please guide as I am very confused and helpless?

Hi SSangma,
As you have mentioned that you got selected for the post of BH, and also you had filled up the Offer Letter Requisition form and sent it along with my Salary Slips.
then why don't you call to HR of HDFC Bank get it confirmed abt your joining date, if really you
have got selected, also you can request them to expedite the process.
& abt your current job, i just need to know whether you have resigned or not?
If resigned then no need to worry!!!!!!!!!!!&
If not then aft confirming from HDFC H.R, Go ahead and serve required notice period to avoid any issues in F&F. and don't be panic your current job. your boss cannot ask you to vaccant the place whenever he wants, I mean against the co. rules & any how you have to serve the notice period before leaving this co. to get all your relevant doc i.e. experince letter , releaving letter etc.
Wishng you all the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

OK. Thanks ver much Sandyk.
But do you have any Idea about how long does HDFC bank generally takes to generate the Offer Letter?
The HR team from HDFC have confirmed me, but also said that it may take time. My problem is that I have to resign on the 30th of this month and if I do not get the Offer Letter from HDFC soon, I will have to stay idle which I cannt afford to. Since the offer letter is pending I am doubtful, which is quite confusing. Hope I am through? Thanks

Sangma,

There are two points in your case.

1. Ways and means to receive offer letter from the prospective employer

2. Pressure to take decision to quit the current employer

1. You have no control over the uncontrollables. What I mean is, the employer might ask you fill up application forms, ask for salary slips, etc.etc. But there is no gurantee that you should be issued offer letter. Unless you receive offer letter from them, your job in HDFC is not certain. Probably, you can contact or send mail to FIND OUT THE STATUS. That is what max. you can do. No one can predict an organization's internal system. It might take a week or so, or might take a month. Or sometimes they might decide to go for some other candidate, we can't say.

2. Obviously, the current employer has to look for a different person if you abruptly put in your paper. You seem to be weak in providing clues to your current employer to smell your departure. He is proactive and hence went ahead and recruited a suitable person. You have become redundant. Look for department change, if possible in the organization, if there is any room. Start looking for a job elsewhere immediately before you are rendered jobless.

Hi,
Thanks.
I just got the CTC brakup today...and I have accepted it. However, I was told that the Formal Letter is still due. Does that mean that I am confirmed?
Also in the CTC acceptance mail, the Certification of NCFM & NISM Depository Module was mentioned. Does that mean that I need to be certified first? or is it mandatory? Please guide about this Certification as I am not too knowledgable about this.

Hi! Now that I am already working, I could say that HDFC bank take too much time for the real appointment. There are people who got the Appointment Letter after 6 months also...However, since you have got he salary break up, you must confirm it to the HR that you accept and your Offer Letter will be out...God knows when? but it surely will. In the mean time concentrate on your present business...All the best.
