Leave Without Pay Policy Inquiry

Please provide me with the policy for leave without pay as per Labour Law. If an employee takes all their leaves and then works only two days in the week, specifically Friday and Monday, is Saturday and Sunday considered with pay or without pay? What are the criteria for such leave without pay (LWP) cases?

Dear Sir,

Leave Without Pay (LWP) is applicable when an employee has no leave balance for the current year, but the availed leave has been approved by the sanctioning authority. If he/she works only two days, Monday and Friday, the remaining days from Tuesday to Thursday will be LWP.

In the case of leave without pay the intervening off days or holidays will be counted as leave without pay only. Regards, Madhu.T.K
