What will a company do with the Investment proof documents?

Hi, What will a company do with the Investment proof documents and the HRA documents submitted by the employee? Will the company submit those documents to the Income tax department?

There is clear instruction to the companies by the CBDT to satisfy themselves on the correctness of investments made by the employees and the companies are responsible for the correct deduction of I.T. The documents/proofs submitted to the companies will remain with them.
