Hi,

Working with the software division in Bengaluru, Karnataka. We have a corporate office in Gurgaon, and all salaries will be managed from Gurgaon.

My question is regarding our employees submitting income tax documents along with supporting documents. I have a doubt - when submitting rent receipts, none of the employees have attached a revenue stamp to the receipt. Is that okay? Please confirm with your valuable comments.

Under income tax, you are not the investigation officer; your responsibility stops when you take Form 12BB along with supporting documents. You are not warranted to look into the integrity of the documents; just prima facie, it must look genuine.
