Dear all,

Nowadays, I am getting some emails from anonymous/fake names that they found me on CITEHR, which seems to be fraudulent. This is just to cheat people. See, friends, how great we are! This site is not only informative for us but also for the fraudulent and fake-minded ones. Great!

One of those emails from "Mena Morgan" <menna4real@att.net> to undisclosed recipients reads:
"How are you, friend? I am just a lonely girl, and I am happy to write to you from www.citehr.com because I want to discuss with you how you can assist me in getting my inheritance that is in a bank. Please write back as soon as you read this email for more discussions. Thank you."

BEWARE OF SUCH EMAILS. AVOID RESPONSE.

Hi, where did you get this message? On your personal email? If yes, then block them or ignore. If you are getting this kind of message through your CiteHR account, then please disclose the names of the members and request the moderator to block them.

There is not much to do, but I can understand your situation and agree that there are numerous people who are doing this with their fake identities and always ready for mischief. The best solution is to ignore and block them from this place and from our personal emails.

Thank you CRK for the post. It amazes me that people still keep putting their email IDs at CiteHr, in response to adverts or seeking people to post attachments to their private email IDs.

Have a nice day. Simhan

Hello CRK,

That was nice of you to alert everyone. But it only goes to prove that CiteHR is indeed going places :-) None would bother with a nondescript website. All we can do is to take the necessary precautions. Whether we like it or not, that's how life is. Someone invents a great thing (in this case, the Internet) — bang, there's another who figures out a way to misuse it.

Yes, Mr. Anil. I do know and will always avoid this kind of emails. This is just to make other members aware of these. The solution as of now is to just block the ids and mark it as spam, but it flows in continuously with different ids, maybe from the same person or different identities. So, just blocking and not responding is the best way.

Thanks & Regards

Dear All,

Yes, even I received this type of emails. I would suggest not mentioning your cell number or email IDs while giving your views on citeHr. I don't know whether I am right or wrong. Hope this will help.

There is no harm in receiving the emails. But if you think it is spam, report the same to the mailing host or debar from receiving mail in your inbox from that address.

Dear Surendra,

Thank you for your feedback and response. However, please remember that some emails may harm our system just by opening the email or downloading the email attachment. Remote access or hacking can happen through that. It happens and has happened.

Nevertheless, the same message is being conveyed by all and to all to report spam, block, or just delete the email if it is found to be sent by an unknown, anonymous, or irrelevant sender.

These are some sort of emails with similar intention.

"My name is Mr. Al-hawshabi Karim, a Yemeni national. I have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. It has defied all forms of medical treatment, and right now I have only a few months to live, according to medical experts. I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone (not even myself) but my business.

Though I am very rich, I was never generous. I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few close friends.

I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul, so I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Somalia, and Malaysia.

Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to a charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan; they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as they seem not to be contented with what I have left for them. The last of my money, which no one knows of, is the huge cash deposit of Eighteen Million dollars ($18,000,000.00) that I have with a finance house abroad. I will want you to help me collect this deposit and dispatch it to charity organizations.

N/B: KINDLY NOTE THAT you will take out 20% of these funds for your effort and time.

Regards, Mr. Al-hawshabi Karim. I WOULD WANT YOU TO REACH ME VIA MY PRIVATE EMAIL IF YOU ARE WILLING TO ASSIST ME"

Most of you may have also received these kinds of emails.

This is just to create awareness for our members who haven't faced these kinds until now.

Dear CRK, I respect your views.

The emails are bad only if you fail to recognize them. It does not matter from whichever source (even other than Cite HR) they come. Unless the source is recognized, one should not touch them, and delete them without a pause.

Moreover, the mail clients are these days equipped with a host of goodies to scan the emails that are spam, threat, and virus-laden. You can also switch on the add-ons for further safety. The firewalls and the virus scanner are also helpful.

Emails are a threat only when you are careless. Otherwise, it is a wonderful tool for communication and information sharing.

Subject: ONE MORE EMAIL

Thursday, 7 April 2011, 12:27 PM

From: "Mercy Jamal" <mercyjamall@hotmail.co.uk>
To: mercyjamall1@hotmail.co.uk

My Dear,

Warm greetings from me,

I apologize for intruding into your privacy. Since we don't know each other, please pay attention and understand my reason for contacting you. Please don't be angry with me, my dear, if you see this message in the spam folder of your mailbox; it may be because I sent it with a low internet connection.

I am happy to get in contact with you after my prayer to God for direction to find a nice, trusted, and sincere reliable friend. I was motivated to write to you after seeing your contact on www.citehr.com. I know that this email will meet you in good health and may come as a surprise, but God has his own way of bringing people together, my dear. I am here to seek your advice, which I believe will help me overcome my situation.

I am presently single, above all, a God-fearing girl. Dearest, in your own time, may it please you to write me back at my email address. This way, I can explain more about myself, share my details, pictures, and the purpose of writing to you. Please do not neglect a humble and lonely heart that seeks your love. A good friendship is the foundation built on other relative things to come. May God bless you as I wait impatiently to hear from you. Thanks and remain blessed.

Yours sincerely,
Mercy Jamal
