I think the difference in simple terms is this. Mentoring is "Helping to Grow". Coaching is "Teaching to grow'. One comes from within and the other from without

Mentoring, on the other hand, requires the person in the mentoring role to have content knowledge of the area they are discussing with their client (e.g., growing a business). While it's not as black and white as this distinction, it serves as a useful guideline.
