Hi all, I need clarification about EPF. Our company is going to start EPF. Our company employees' pay scale is structured as follows:

Salary structure:
Basic, HRA, SP. Allow, Transport Allow, Out of Duty Allowance, Tell. Allow.

Starting with:
a) Basic 2000, HRA 800, Spl Allo. 50, Transport Allow. 800, Tel. Allow. 350 = 4000 + Meal Cash 500
And
b) Basic 23000, HRA 9200, Sp. Allow. 2000, Transport Allow 800 = 35000 + Sodexo Meal Voucher 3000

The calculation is on Basic 23000x12% 2760/- + 8.33% 1916/- + 844/- = 5,520/-, which is correct.

How to calculate a) & b) when we are not giving DA. So, please, I am requesting all of you to reply promptly.

Hi all,

With regards to PF, is there any criterion with respect to the number of employees in an organization, or is PF applicable to all companies irrespective of the number of employees? I would also like to know the basic components in a salary package mandated by law.

Dear ASB Nair, Ceiling salary for EPS contribution is Rs. 6500. Accordingly Rs. 541 will only go to pension fund. Balance Rs. 2219 will go to individual PF account as employer contribution. Abbas.P.S
