hi,
I am totally at a loss for words at the way a recruitment consultant www.geniusjobs.com has dealt with my resume. I must have at some point of time posted my resume to them, either in response to an opportunity or not
Today they send me a mail informing me that they have posted my resume on their website. They have infact been sooo kind  to have assigned me a username and password too and that from now i can look forward to innumerable job alerts.
I think this is taking things a little too far; If they ever wanted to put my resume on their website, the least they could have done is check with me. I think Iam a person of average intelligence and i can decide where/when I want to exhibit my resume in some public domain.
I feel as if my privacy has been impinged

Hi,

NICE TO SEE THE MESSAGE AND VOICING YOUR VIEWS.

I would like to share with you my thoughts on this.

Fine with me in making this fake operator known. But let us not pass value judgements unless very sure.

Regarding applying online, I see both the parties do mistakes.

Prospect:

a. Prospects looking for lucarative openings attracted by the catchwords

- instead they can go through a reliable / known consultant.

b. They apply online but not update their status further and making the contact difficult particularly after shortlisting a candidate.

Consultant:

1. If they have good hold they can be genuine with the prospect ; not overstate things and not act on their own.

2. In this high attrition period, dump someone to keep the client happy.

I have come across a few cases where a leading online recruiter charges a fee with his prospective clients and provide resumes. In a particular case, they even submitted a working employees resume to the client thus putting things difficult for the person working in the company.

Bye 4 now.

Hi,
This placement consultant in question had done something similar with one of my friends.Even without informing her he used to forward her profile to a lot of MNC's and used to mail her regarding interview schedules.
I too,believe,he is a fraud..

hi folks,
read your views, but honestly i am not feeling the same as you all have stated.
According to me , most of us post our resume in different job sites, we post our information there. if , i am not wrong we all have done this.
Then consultancies are meant to coordinate between companies and candidates. Few of us forward our Cv's to the consultancies also for a good opportunity.
So , what is hidden there?
Now if this consultancy has not asked for any money from you and has posted your cV in its website , then how does it matters.
Its good if you are getting mails for the interviews, you can always decide to go or not to go for that..
Well. still I want to know what made you all think like that , I guess i am missing something which has clicked you all.
please let me know...
Am waiting.....
