Hi Sanjana,
After the verdict, a lot of companies have closed. We have advised people to be cautious and have left it to them to decide when and if they want to go home. Those living far away have already left.

There was no violence anywhere at Hosur Road, Magadi Road, Rajaji Nagar, and surrounding areas. The police were present in full strength, but the pro-Kannada organizations have called for a bandh on the 8th. Please plan accordingly.

Dear friends,
I have received confirmation that protestors have requested manufacturing units in Bommasandra to be closed. Two of our units have been affected by these closures. The protestors have come from Attibelle and are pressuring people to shut down businesses.
Just for your information.

Hello All,
Find below a set of suggestions to ensure your personal safety.
- Avoid the use of KA and TN registered vehicles (personal and public) in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, respectively, during the week from 5th to 10th Feb.
- Avoid inter-state road/rail travel for the same duration.
- Keep abreast of the local situation while commuting and avoid trouble spots.
- Avoid communal gatherings and crowded places, including cinema theatres.

Hi,
I believe no companies should declare holidays, as our productivity would hit rock bottom and we would encounter other problems. Instead, we should consider organizing a signature campaign to voice our concerns. This approach would be much more effective and would speak louder than anything else.

Hi Sheky,
I believe you are not aware of the situation when the results from certain authorities were declared on this issue. In 1991-92, the situation was the worst. Almost all the industries were affected for almost 2 weeks. The situation was slightly better in 2001-02. We must thank the present government as all the companies are working on the aftermath of the unexpected results declared. Rest all depends on individuals. I request you to consult your seniors before making any decisions.
Warmly,
Shashank

Hi Ashra,
Everything is under control... Don't worry. 😊
Yesterday (Feb. 6), all educational institutes were closed in Bangalore. However, all the colleges and schools are open today. So, you can ask your brother to attend college. 😄
Also, the bandh scheduled for tomorrow (Feb. 8) has been postponed to the 12th, which is Monday.

Shashank

Dear All,
If there is a Bandh on 12th Feb, is it a good idea to adjust it against one holiday from the List of Holidays declared for the year 2007 as we are not in favor of giving extra holidays. Please suggest.

Dear Karuna,
In our company, we select the government holidays from the list provided as per the notification from the government of Karnataka and the government of India. So, I am not sure if you can do this.
"If there is a Bandh on 12th Feb, is it a good idea to adjust them against one holiday from the List of Holidays declared for the year 2007 as we are not in favor of giving extra holidays."
I would suggest you ask your company to make one Saturday a working day so that productivity will not be affected. Also, if possible, you can make the coming Saturday a working day. Let's wait for other members' suggestions before coming to a conclusion.

Shashank
