Hi,

I manage a placement company and one of our client wants a special services related to hiring of candidates.

As per the requirement given by the clients we need to screen candidate on phone and if short listed would call them for personal & technical written test at our premises.

Then as per the criteria set client would evaluate those candidates and would call them at clients site for Final/line manager’s interview.

Here.., I have few questions where I need your help –
  • How much we should charge client for each candidate coming in for test
  • Format of the contract
  • out of the short listed lot (after written test) if client offers any one and that person joins – what should be our charges here ( as we have already taken some amount from client for having its 1st interview & test at our premises)

Hope to receive re[plies from my fellow members as soon as possible…

Regards,
Sweta

please dun charge any thing in advance if person selected for job then charge only.
becoze the candidate who dun select and u charge them for initial round they feel like cheated and depressed.
due to these kind of practices candidates are losing faith on consultancies
there are many consultancies who dun charge anything directly to candidate they get paid from client. if candidate selected he will happily pay the amount you want
i dun knw how much it mean to you but this is my personal exp which i want to share

Hey Sweta,
You are running a business and want a commercial suggestion here...so what do we get huh:icon8:......its usually a paid service to get such advice babe.....and you are asking in free site.:-x.....very smart huh....:-P
1. I don't thing any company would pay for taking test, if the test question papers are prepared by the company. If they are paying you negotiate with them. You are the most lucky placement firm on this earth.
2. Please have a legal Solicitor do this job. Do not take any chance on this and copy the contract from here and there.
3. Ideally in market the going rate is anywhere from 8% to 25% on CTC based on the category of staff. Usually for fresher it is less and goes up with experience and position.

HI Sweta, you can not charge the client for any candidate coming for test at your premises. It would be best to do a tight screening on phone to ensure that the 2nd round/Technical Test round has only the relevant candidates. However the end objective is successful placement so prima facie this service (Telephonic round/Technical Test) is not chargeable to client.
The only exception is probably the PSU/Govt. sector where consultants are empanelled for screening services /Response management and that too when the screening process spans over multiple locations or far out locations /remote areas.
You could however negotiate a higher % in your contract as the effort and time is definitely more in this kind of process.

Hey,
Do what ever way you want BUT NEVER EVER CHARGE ANY CANDIDATE..
RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY IS A NOBLE PROFESSION, DON'T EXPLOIT ANY JOB SEEKER ANYTIME.. NEED OF BREAD N BUTTER, OF SOMEONE SHOULD NOT BE EXPLOITED ANYTIME..
IF YOU DON'T HAVE CALIBER TO SOURCE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR ANY CORPORATE WITHOUT CHARGING, STOP WORKING AS A RECRUITER FIRM..
MAY GOD SAVE YOUNG JOB SEEKERS FROM YOU...
