Hi Friends, I just want ask that am B.E. Computer and i got job as HR Executive in one of the S/W firm am confuse should i continue my carrreer in HR OR I S should go in my field?
Hi , You could draft your career towards both the skills . You can become a Technical Recruiter ( BE + HR ) . There is good career path for Technical Recruiters in future . Regards, Sweta
Hi Sweta,
Thanks for reply. actually i have not done any HR course.but i dont want do the job as tecnical recruiter.Actually my boss told me that i can do the better in HR because in IT its very challenging

Hi pallavi,
first you should understand that HR is a challenging field and requires communication and people management skills along with the related HR qualification/expeirence.
as you are B.E you can do some distance learning course in HR (P.G) along with the job .it will help you much.but for that you should come to conclusion wether you have inclination towards this field or no.
That only you can decide .

HR is not much of a education based job. It is more of a skill based job.
It requires good people skill. If you think you have that and you can manage the staff, handle their queries and what ever management decides whether good or bad you can convey that to employees effectively then only you are a good fit for HR.
If you have cultivated good programming or skills then i think you should try for your own field only as it has got a very wide exposure and growth line. It may that you don't like coding and all but still you can try testing and QA's profiles. Even a system/Business analyst's profile will also fit you.

Hi Pallavi :
Basically you are a technically qualified with BE Computer.
Looking at today's IT required industries, you will have a better work career if you pursue in IT field which pays much more than HR.
In case you are determined to get into HR, wd suggest you to pls compelte a PG course/diploma in HR which will not only enrich your knowledge but also will help you to discharge HR activities more professionally than being a BE Compu.
Further, your day today decisions and advise the mgmt will be more fruitful backed up with your HR qualifications.
Decide rationally.
All the best and Good Luck.

HR is basically a job which suits a person who has good serving abilities....."willingness to help kind of attitude"......most of the HRs fall short of it......thts why in todays world most of the HRs are disliked by the employees.....very few understand He is doing his duty.......

I wd suggest if u r strong enough as a person and doesnt get personal with management related commitments and decisions u shd go for it......having BE only improves ur technical skill but will not help u grow as an HR......HR is complete different profession........

I wd also like to give u my example.....im a BCA graduate and worked for top MNC for 2 yrs till i realised my potenial and desire to work with the management.....i finished my MBA - HR and am confident about the challenges.....both are different fields of intrest.....certaily i was not much fascinated my technical work i was handling....

i wish u all the best and i belive it is a good oppurtunity.......think, decide and go for it.......if u fell unsure its better u look for a technical job......

1) In the beginning eíthing will be dry. Both fields u should work hard.
Technical- to get a job n to perform better for career growth.
HR- uíve already got the job and to work for a specialization(SAP or something other) for career growth.

2) But after 2 yrs of exp. the HR filed growth may be Multiples but Technical field growth will be multiples definitely may be exponential also.

3) Iam giving my example only, I did my B.E. in ECE. Iíve not worked for 3 yrs after my B.E. due to some personal reasons. After that when Iíve searched for the job neither I treated as a fresher nor experienced. Then I searched for non-IT jobs. In that hunt I got the opportunity to work as a HR. I utilized the opportunity to settle my career anyhow, n working from past 6 months.iím happy n have job satisfaction. But at end of corner of my heart, Iíve a feeling of(1%) that Iíve lost my career in technical side. Where Iím working now, the company is based on Electronics only. Whenever Iíll mingle with my co-employee-engineers, Iíll feel that more. Im trying to jump to the technical side here only, that is other issue. I think u donít have such type of problems of gap, career losing n financial troubles.

Think wisely, the best decision can be taken by YOU only coz u can judge urself better than others. Donít be confused and choose a right path by considering some factors- current availability, future settlement, time and money.

With Regards
