Dear Friends,

I have two queries:

1. If an employee leaves their employment during the middle of the year, are they entitled to a bonus for the period they worked with us?

2. When fixing an employee's C.T.C., we allocate a certain amount as LTA, which will be paid to them by the end of the year. If the employee leaves the organization before completing the year, are they entitled to the LTA amount for the period they worked with us?

Thank you.

Dear Deva,

Bonuses have to be paid based on the financial performance of the company and are applicable from April to March of every year. Additionally, any person who has worked for not less than 30 days is eligible to receive a bonus for that particular year.

Dear Friends,

As per our leave rules, between holidays and Sundays, leave is not allowed. However, some employees have taken leave on the 16th of August. Can we deduct their pay or leave for two days (16th and 17th of August)?

Kindly guide.

I don't think this is the correct policy of the company. Can we deny leave on a particular day simply on the grounds that there are holidays/weekly off before and after that day - which is beyond the control of the employee? Deduction of salary for two days on this account alone will not be legal.
