Employee referrals / recommendations, public & pvt.employment agencies,executive search firms,Mgt. consultants,Temporary help services,Schools,colleges & univ's, Professional organisations,Walk-ins, Body shopping,Business alliances,Forty+ clubs, Web recruitments or on-line recruitments and off course the latest Blog recruitments.The last 3 mentioned are the newer methods of head hunting.

You yourself have said it.The Executive search firms as well as the blog recruitments are generally used to hire top level executives.However it is imp. to note that it is used in conjunction with other methods of recruitment to arrive at a more precise assessment.Web based recruitments are also becming very popular these days.

It is also imp. to mention here about the latest or new hiring model which many may not know about , the HMS or Hiring gateway system or Hiring mgt. system.This again is web based recruitment & completely replaces the manual system with a software that allows mgrs. to locate requisitions as well as automatically upload resumes.This software also allows recruiters to use knowledge based technologies to create statements of qualifications required or that which individuals have ......and which could be matched to job openings for suitability , inaddition to screening Q's that are to be asked to prospectives etc. and many other new characterstics.It is a highly advanced system in efficiency ,it is said to be developed over a period of 15 years with several thousands of competencies to back it.With this, recruiters can distinguish qualitative differences as also draw logical inferences and understand resume's as they exactly mean.It is expensive but over a long period proves cost-effective and reduces the hiring cycle short by 48% therby saving a lot of time.

Please tell me how blog recruitments can work exactly and how they can be used in hiring senior level managers since these managers dont reveal their intentions of changing jobs on the internet out of fear that someone from thei current organisation might see their resume leading to problems,such as lack of trust etc.

Talent is scarce and it definitely makes sense to think out of the box,more so for sourcing strategies.That is where blogs come into the picture.What are blogs?They are nothing but personal or semi-personal online diaries where comments are made abt. various issues,opinions aired,experiences narrated.....etc .

More & more HR Mgrs.are going thru blogs for recruitment because blogs give an insight into the person and his personality thru his or her blogging.Opinions & experiences give recruiters interesting facts about the blogger and his mental make-up besides some information abt. certain personal characterstics,level of intelligence,communication skills,sharpness in terms of reactions, level of information inputs and sometimes even the degree of humaness in the blogger .Blogs abt.success & challenges also give out tips about blogger.

Interviews & selection tests are also techniques or tools to gather requisite information abt. potential candidates,their personality.....etc
Most interviewees clam up & are too nervous during interviews so the rt.
picture is not available with recruiters to make good selections.But with blogging all these self defeating purposes are overcome to get the right picture of the prospective candidate at their best.

However remember,blogs by themselves cannot be used for recruitments, neither can tests nor interviews.All should be made use of to supplement one another to arrive at an more or less accurate assessment-TO RECRUIT OR NOT TO RECRUIT?

Body shopping is arguably a uniquely Indian practice whereby an Indian-run consultancy (body shop) anywhere in the world recruits IT workers, in most cases from India, to be placed out as project-based labor with different clients. Unlike conventional recruitment agents who introduce employees to employers, body shops manage workers on behalf of employers—from sponsoring their temporary work visas to paying their salaries, arranging for accommodation and the like. Thus, workers do not enter into any direct relationships with their contract employers and can be retrenched at any time, whereupon the body-shop sponsor either is able to place them out to a different client or puts them on the bench to await a placement.

Can u help in different Ways of Recruiting Operator level.
We have Trainees to be recruited from 16 years to 22 Years
We have referral Schemes, Advertisements, canvassings etc.
But no use. the Inflow in very less. same way attrition is also more.
Can u sugges me some ways like Forty + Clubs - I cant get this. and
Other types of recruitment for Senior Positions. Also
Others also please help mee.

Many Senior managers & consultants blog in public domain for passion. One might have come across loads of blogs dedicated for topics like HR, sales & other functions run by subject matter experts. Apart from working professionals one can find good quality consultants & freelancers who are otherwise not interested in a 10 to 6 job. They are also good targets for recruiters.

Thanks for informing about HMS. However, this again is useful in hiring top level people. Can you help me in guiding system for recruiting "Craftsmen". With the recent development of UP/Bihar people leaving Maharashtra, making available this type of personnel has become very critical. Maharashtrian people have started demanding exhorbitant wages that too with less efficiency and output.

As you must be aware ,highly skilled employees are in short supply,so many co.'s have come forward to overcome this by forging alliances in several areas includind the sharing of employees to attain synergy and optimise.
Have u heard of employee leasing,where employees who have the requisite skills are leased out to other co.'s not necessarily sister concerns.Hitherto rivals /competitorshave come together for mutually beneficial arrangements.

Body shopping - Professional co.'s & Hi-tech training institutes develop a pool of human resource for possible employment .Organisations in need of
skilled employees contact them for recruitments.These co.'s looking for skilled employees are called body shoppers & their activity is termed body shopping. This method came into being in the Y2K Period and is mostly used for recruiting computer professionals.

Executive search firms as the name itself suggests is generally meant to locate & recruit senior level or top mgt. executives while the mgt.consultancies are meant for others including freshers.

Coming to 40+ clubs,these again ,are meant for senior level
executives.40+ clubs are productive networking places where getting the
relevant names of professionals,having focused and productive conversations etc. generate leads to employee referrals and introductions.

Blog recruitments definitely do not cost any money,Kate.Hope i have been able to answer your queries.

It was indeed enlightening, however, could you please explain me about Forty + club? It's still unclear. Is it a social forum like orkut or something like that or is it a real club of people or what? I have never heard that before! I am working on my project on recruitment and selection. Could you please let me know how can a company manage the CVs it stores, i mean how can it be manages and made effective and less time consuming or if you could suggest me any alternatives to make recruitment process simpler and quick, without compromising on cost? I have to focus on cost reduction as well, keeping in mind quality applicants to be chosen. Besides, other than employee/internal referrals, web portals,etc what other alternatives could be brought into practice? Please advise.
