As per notification published in the Official Gazette dated 12th October 2017, the Government of Karnataka has amendment the Karnataka Factories Rules, 1969. The major changes includes the following compliances being completed through department online portal "e-surakshate" with reference to: Approval of site; construction or extension of a factory; Application for registration and grant of licence; Application for renewal of license; Transfer of License; Notice of Occupation; Notice of Change of manager; Notification of Accidents and dangerous occurrences; Notice of poisoning or disease and Returns. The Order passed under this Act may be served through e-mail ID of persons or through department online portal "e-surakshate". Under the new amendment the License may be granted or renewed for a period of ten years at a time and the Fee structure towards the license has also been revised.
