Dear Friends
I have few clarification with regards to the below points please give your inputs
1.If an employee want to submits his/her resignation letter who has the authority to accept it ? is it HR or Operations or in concerence with both.
2.Can HR take the final call what is the LWD(Last working day)of an employee without concerence of operations.
3.Can HR make a decision in waiving of the notice period for an employee, when operations is not in the favour of an employee.
4.For an example when x is writing the resignation letter date and should the accepting authority should mention LWD in the resgination letter date or not or both can be the same.

Hi Karan,
1) The right to accept the resignation lies solely with HR, however, before you accept the resignation, there are many factors you need to take into consideration. eg. The employee's performance, his overall contribution to the system etc. The circumstances under which the employee is resigning and the reason are of great significance. It is advised, that in all circumstances, you should try to retain the employee, if you see any scope for Resolution.
2) The HR can decide the LWD for the employee depending on the policies mentioned in the offer letter.
3) Yes, the HR can decide to waive off the notice period, depending on the reason for leaving and on factors mentioned in point 1.
4) Both can be the same if the notice period is waved off. If not, then the Authority MUST mention the LWD.
