Dear villis,

It would be good if you do SAP-HR. However it is completely different from Generalist or Functional HR. If you do SAP-HR, the main thing is that to move into a SAP consultant job. It might help you in generalist role when you are working for a big MNC and where SAP is in practice. Again even in that case you would be playing an End User role..

The main thing in studying SAP would be of implementation role.. Where you would be working in SAP projects and you would be a part of implementation team and would be implementing projects for client companies.

If you want to remain in generalist HR field, you shall take up SAP course from normal institute, where you would know the basics of SAP and you shall get a tutorial software and shall install it on to your pc and shall practice.

If still need any specific clarification, do feel free to ping me up because I have done SAP-HR and am working in a generalist role. Again no institute will teach you SAP completely as they can't provide you live projects to work on and which shall only be taken if you work as a consultant.... :)

Dear Maddineni,
Are you planning to shift your domain to SAP ?
If not you don't need to do it in a priority basis.. Hope the post itself would explain you much. I have told you already that there is no job at present vacant for an SAP fresher. Even though you would have some line of experience in HR domain , still you would be considered as a fresher in SAP as the domain experience would just help you to understand the basic components of SAP-HR.
Best Regards,
Mahesh

Dear Rahul,
This is a reply to the mail which you had sent to me. This is because I just want the information to be shared to everyone here.
Other things are explained here except for some points,
The market for SAP is very good and it would remain the same for another 20 years. The only issue is that no wonder you have experience in generalist domain, still you would be considered as a fresher in SAP.
The market for a fresher in SAP is not good now as companies are not taking people with prior experience in SAP.
Again for the calls,
If a company is getting SAP implemented on to its functions. First they would implement all other things and HR would be the last module to get implemented. It is not that HR is not called, however it is a vital and important module for a company which has SAP implemented.
Hope you would be cleared now... :) Still with doubts feel free to ping me...

Dear Ruchika,
This is a reply to the mail which you had sent to me. This is because I just want the information to be shared to everyone here.
For a fresher who have done a specialization in HR would be little hard to get into a generalist profile but still it is not the thing. You should never give up on you and should always keep trying for that. Again in the mean while don't waste time. Get into any specified profile in HR and even that would add some meaning on to your resume.
Doing SAP HR now is not advisable as there are no openings for the same as fresher. Still if you want to work as a functional consultant in SAP, you need to have some domain experience in HR.
Still carrying doubts, feel free to ping me...
