Job interview....... Tips We can find some of the people getting tensed when they attend interviews. Even some of the people having masters in degree cannot present themselves for interviews in a proper way. As we all are aware this mainly happens due to the lack of confidence, and moreover they feel that the other person is more stronger.

Here are few tips to taken care before attending to the interview.
  • As we are aware that " Dress makes a man". The dressing should be in a formal way and that should make our self feel comfortable.
  • Be Punctual: This is the most important aspect of job interview-arriving on time. Being late may cause to lose that job opportunity. Being stuck in the traffic is a very lame excuse. It is better to be early by one hour than to be a minute late.
  • "Resume" should reflect us. The content mentioned in the resume should match with what we say in front of the interviewer. This is because the first impression that we carry in front of the interviewer completely depends on our resume.
Firstly before attending to any interview he/she should be confident on themselves and once we attend to the interview we should support our self. And for that time being, we should try to just imagine that the others who have attended the interview there, knows something less than us. With this i don't want to convey that we should be proud of our self, but this will be a way to get rid of stress or nervousness that we feel.
In these days we find the interviews a bit complicated. The complete procedure of interview finishes by more than 3 rounds.

Especially we find the interviewers conducting different rounds of interview like Group discussions, Aptitude test, Typing test, HR round etc......

Most of the people worry about Group discussions as because here we are asked to talk about a topic in the crowd.

We find some of the people speaking on typical topics in group discussions and they just try to read it rather than presenting it. When it comes to these kind of rounds body language plays an important role. 50% of the message can be conveyed with the expressions and our body language. The moto of conducting a group discussion is not to check, whether we are aware of that topic or not. It is only to check the communication skills, presenting skills, and how far is that we are trying to analyze it.

And moreover the topics that we choose shouldn't be complicated. We should always discuss on the topic which, we feel that we can present in a better way.
Always try to discuss on some thing which we face or which we come across in our daily life like poverty, child labor, traffic problems, nature, social evils etc... As we come across or observe these in the society we can discuss about these in a much better way. And one should be very clear of what he/she speaks. Every word that we speak should be related to what we are discussing. The discussion should not take a diversion from one point to the other. As we are aware that there is a time limit given in group discussion, try to present it in a easy understanding way and should be finished with in the time frame.

SELF INTRODUCTION

Introducing our self to the crowd should be in a very formal way.

We are usually asked to introduce our selves before the group discussion starts, we should keep in mind that we are given a time frame to discuss on a topic as well as to self introduce our selves. When introducing at this time just give your name, qualification, and then experience with the previous employer(if left the job) or current employer details(if still working). And then we can go with the topic.

HR ROUND

And the main task comes when we are asked to introduce our self or asked to tell about our self in one-on-one.

We find most of the candidates clearing the first two or three rounds and when it comes to the HR round the candidates would be rejected.
The problem for this is, here most of the candidates cannot present them selves in a better way. And they come with one idea of presenting, and then later that will be carried out in a different way in the interview.

When ever we are presenting our self in any interview we should always take the presentation in an order
  • First start with a greet, then your name.
  • Then comes your qualification.
  • Your work experience. Can also, tell about your achievements with the previous or current employer.
  • Hobbies
  • Family Background( If you feel it is necessary).
And then as per the questions asked by the interviewer you can proceed with the answers.

Here is an example given below:

Mock Interview Practice:

A: Could I know something about yourself?

My name is Rahul. I stay in West Delhi.

I've completed my graduation in BCA Cource and have done it from Delhi University. Currently I'm pursuing a course in Enginnering from Delhi University. This course will complete in 2004.

My work experience includes one years of exposure in the software Industry. Currently, I'm working with
ABC Software Company as a Software Engineer. I joined as a Junior Technician,
and after six months got promoted to the software Engineer level..

If you would like to know my hobbies, they include: playing basket balls, playing chess on the internet, and playing the pool.

In terms of computers, I possess a typing speed of 40 words per minute and have a basic knowledge of Windows 95.

I can read and write 3 languages Hindi, English and Punjabi.

A: That sounds good. Could you define the sort of responsibilities that you are assigned in your current organization?
B: Sure, the organization is majorly into Software Development. And in which I have been assigned the role of Engineer. My profile includes handling my team and developing new software for the company.

A: Where do you see yourself in the next 2 years?
B: In the next 2 years, I would definitely like to be at a very stable position in a prestigious
organization, keeping in mind that within these 2 years I would not permit my self to
change the organization…or hopping as they call it.

A: What advantages would we gain, if we employ you?
B: If I get a chance to be in your company, I'll make sure that my dedication and commitment to my work atmosphere is recognized and the company in return offers me a chance to grow based on my development capabilities.

The above example gives an idea of, how to self introduce us, and how to present our self in a better way.
