HR have never been regard as a high paying job in monetary terms. In the past HR has always been regards as a Cost centre whereby we command least respect among the employer and employees. However the situation today HR has more or less become a strategic partners in helping the companies achieve their business objectives. HR practitioner has to have business acumen and change their mindset from traditional role of HR practise to modern responsbilities and requirement. Sad to say that as HR is not a revenue generating department therefore in terms of salary it might not be as attractive as the sales, engineers professionals.

To me practising HR should be a noble intention to be a bridge for both employer and employees looking into the well being of employees and at the same time a strategic partner to achieve company objectives.

Being a HR generalist might be in high demand now but going forward i strongly believes that being a HR specialist like in Compensation & Benefits; Training and Development etc will be of a higher selling point as most HR adminstrative job being outsourced.

If you are choosing for your career now you might want to consider if being a HR is in line with your career objectives in term of monetary??

Hi,
1."Learning is better than earnings".... Offcouse you need more money but knowledge only makes the HR successful.. software engineer can be experience in 2 years in their field because they do the same thing with code everyday.... but HR are facing different and challenging problem everyday and HR should be knowlegable in practical..
2.HR generalist is in demand
3.According to the company standards and designation compensation are divided with the HR department

Nice discussion, according to me HR is not a highly paid domain in comparison to sales and other IT guys but every domain has its own pros and corns. IF you are in to generalist profile it takes a long time to achieve a handsome package however if you are specialized in one particular field like recruitment i believe you can make good and quick money. To achieve more you have to prove you’re self.
