A site for everything related to Graphology: ET - 9th Nov 11 - Article by Ram Charan

Have you read today's ET? There is a 2 minute citing by Ram Charan. He is a highly sought after business advisor and speaker famous among senior executives for his uncanny ability to solve their toughest business problems. For more than thirty-five years, Dr. Charan has worked behind the scenes with top executives at some of the world's most successful companies, including GE, Verizon, Novartis, Dupont, Thomson Corporation, Honeywell, KLM, Bank of America, and MeadWestvaco. He has shared his insights with many others through teaching and writing.

Here is the link to the article Ram Charan's The talent Masters

It drives the point to have the best talent possible beautifully. The start of the article "If businesses managed their money as carelessly as they manage their people, most would be bankrupt" hits the point across. Think about it, The ability to spend money on hiring talent is definitely well spent as compared to spending money on rectifying mistakes and losses.

A handwriting and signature analysis of the candidate is the simplest and safest way of accurately judging him/her without the candidate even being aware of it. Businesses ranging from independently owned small businesses to Fortune 500 companies have found Handwriting Analysis more helpful and beneficial than psychological personality tests in both team building and decision making. Every hiring mistake can cost the company thousands while contributing to poor moral and negative feelings among employees. We can analyse loyalty, ambition, logic, concentration level, interpersonal skills and more.

Hence Graphological analysis becomes an excellent method to prescreen prospective employees at a fraction of the cost of personal interviews or other methods of psychological evaluation.

It is not the furniture, the location, the interiors or the revenue that will ensure success but the People you hire. Ensure you hire the best.

The Workaholics have got it wrong

Have you ever had a fight at home and gone to work thanking god your work life is better??

Are you a better and happy person at work than at home?

Are you deluding yourself by being occupied by work?

You need to read this article. If you belong to the HR department, you need to put this article on your notice board and ensure that your Human Resources are happy everywhere... at home and at work.

Unhappy at home? Losing yourself in work doesn't help - The Times of India

Professor Yannis Gargles at Kingston University in London, one of the researchers, said: "The life and work domains are definitely correlated. Happiness at home affects your job and vice versa.

"Although there is a clear 'spillover' effect from one area of life to the other, there is no evidence that people who are very unhappy at home will feel 'compensated' by work in any way."

The researchers came to the conclusion on an analysis of a survey of 10,000 people across 30 European countries.

If you believe that staying late at work will save you from your home life, you are mistaken. Running away from issues is not going to solve your problems.

A simple example – If you fall down and hurt your knee, do you GET UP and Bandage it or do you divert your mind to something else (like working or cribbing about the pain) and let it bleed?

The answer is obvious, isn’t it?

Then why do you let your life bleed in these small issues that come to everyone but are expanded out of proportion with each passing day?

It must be fear. I see it happen almost everyday. People ask me what graphology can disclose? I find people scared of graphologists. They ask about the traits that it can disclose and not the cost of the service. Why are we so worried? Why are we so scared of finding ourselves? Didn't Franklin D. Roosevelt say that There is nothing to fear but fear itself?

Broke the new yr resolution already?

The following post is not just for HR managers but anyone who is a manager...manager of self, manager of home and manager at work. Would request everyone to read it and share it with your loved ones.

New year Resolutions don't last more than hours. Why?

We need to quit smoking but can't. Why?

We want to spend less, but don't. Why?

We want to be more assertive, but can't. Why?

Is it really impossible to do what we want? or do we give up and not try again. So what if you broke the resolution? Is it an excuse for you not to start again? Do we need a date to start living better?

Kindly ponder over these questions before you read further. Change is the only thing permanent. One doesn't need any date to start changing. Neha is sad with her career growth. She comes to me for analysis. She understand that she has issues being assertive mostly. I show her the reason for not being assertive. She agrees. I show her the changes that she can make. She has the Information now. I ask her to practice the letters and change the sign. She practices 5 days out of 7. She starts to feel calm and understands herself better.

She gets an opportunity to apply this change in front of her boss. She tells herself that she is an an assertive person now and the past has no reason to hold her back. With this new found courage and understanding, she answers her boss. While replying, She is happy. She is feeling elated with each passing moment.. Just till the second the boss hears her and replies in negative. The bubble bursts. She gives up and says that Graphology doesn't work and never practices again. Application fails. I check on her after a week and she tells me that it didn't work.

What does Neha not realize? - Some trait of yours was yours for more than 20 years. You were not the most assertive person for more than 20 years. How will 7 days of work erase 20 years of a trait. Nothing is magical. So what if you failed once? Try again.

One needs to apply the information to learn. It is impossible to change overnight or in 7 days. Graphology is not magical. It shows you one of the fastest ways to make changes in your life and live better, but you have to keep applying your will and keep trying to change. Each application will have a learning. Each learning when applied again will lead you to growth.

On this note, I wish all of you a very Happy New Year. I wish you never break any resolution and become the individual you want to become. We are never give the desire without the ability to achieve it. I hope you realize that time is less and there is a long way to go.

Keep Learning,

Keep growing.

Keep Smiling :)

Thank you so much everyone. Here is one such article

I was recently talking to Head HR of a growing SME (just in words is he an head hr, in action poor guy has not much of a team to head) about the results of the Pre-Employment Scan. For those of you who have already been through the analysis, know that it can tell you about the person's ability to be a team leader. The guy in analysis was someone to be hired for Head of Operations or maybe COO. He marked low on being a team player and high on leadership. Besides this, he was low on cheating and high on positive attitude and creativity and other things that he should have scored a high on. There seemed no doubt in my mind over this guy being hired and I was busy concentrating on my next assignment when the Head HR asked for a chat over this profile. Slightly shocked and curious, we spoke immediately and He asked that what did a score of 2 out of 5 mean for this guy. I explained that they like to lead and not be led. Slightly on the bratty side, One (read the Head HR) can be aware of this trait before hand and give them projects accordingly. Also, since he is being hired for a Head position, it shouldn't matter much. The Head HR didn't say much and asked me if I could understand how good will this person be at customer service. My second shock! Ability to be polite was ok, ego was slightly high and sarcasm and harshness was high, so I told him that he might not be good at customer service. The Head HR sounded sad and gave a sad ok and we said our thank you's and goodbyes.

I couldn't concentrate on my next profile as the link between customer service and Head of operations was not making any sense, so I ended up asking him if I could call. He promptly agreed and I asked him. He didn't seem very amazed at my question and answered that customer service for him is a big quality and he shared the following story.

A Miami prison which had the country’s biggest violence and break-away rates. Its new director has all his staff attend a 4-week customer service course and tells them ‘ok now, you have to treat your inmates as if they were your customers’. Two years later, new statistics come out and this jail now has the lowest violence and break-away rates.

He then added that by giving respect can a person gain it and since theirs is a growing company, they want to ensure that people at COO position are willing to work like a executive till the time the right team is in place. Hence he ensures that no matter what or whom he hires, he needs to check their ego and ability to be polite and work hard. It made a lot of sense. I told him that I will check for these pointers specifically next time I analyse his profiles. He also added that the primary reason for using my services is that they can't figure out such traits by interviews.

I wanted to verify the story and checked on google to find this - 2007 febrer « Projectes Interns

though this could also be an hawthorne effect where simply because workers were singled out for special treatment and thus perhaps felt more valued or more pressured to perform well but I know that respect is one trait you don't get my asking. You have to have have to earn it. :)

Keep smiling

Keep respecting

Keep loving

Keep sharing!
