Dear Swati,
As you have completed your probation period and still continuing in you job there is some positive things in you that you are still there one thing more is any environment is not as people expects but people should have to change themselves into whichever environment they placed. My suggestion is that dont quit the job and face the challange nothing is impossible if you have the desire and will. Slowly slowly you will be adopted into a generalistic profile and rather you starts enjoying it.

Hi Swati
To add to what the others have said:
1. what is making you unhappy? is it due to a lack of skill or something else? can you upgrade yourself in this regard so that you can perform better?
2. Is there someone in the company you can talk to frankly? if so ask this person what is preventing you from performing better? if no one is there can you speak to the MD?
3. what is it that you want to do? what excites you or you are good at? is it possible to do this in the present company?
all the best

I am a SAP Consultant,my first job and first experiment on SAP.You know when I went to give interview I was not knowing the full form of SAP.and I got selected and started working it was a matter of chance. When I joined no one was here to guide me and I dint got any help from any one.But I sticked to it and tried to learn myself.
now I am implementing SAP-HR in many good and big companies. This is the power of self learning.
Though its too tough but too interesting and challanging.

Dear Swati,
You started your career as a recruiter..What was the next thing in your mind in recruitments???
To be a Sr. Recruiter..?
Recruitment happens to be just one of the functional areas of HR, You must have joined as HR - Generalist, with some plans & with a zeal to perform, If you will loose it then you will end up doing recruitments.
Take my word if now you will do recruitments, you will not be happy with it.
You have got an opportunity that most of the people in HR cry for their whole life. Praise yourself for a good task and if you feel you are wrong ask your seniors, friends in HR anyone..
One cannot master his profession, if you feel you have or you can then you will never learn..
Dont leave this job..Be a fighter, dont give up..

hello,
i wish to suggest u 3 answers with this sentence:
1.System should be clear from inside by urself by hook or crook,if u hav not any dareing type things than u can take help from others as well as possible.as u r not alone in the system.there are lot of person in the system not only u.
2.Leave this type of system.but this type of system is present in the whole world.
3.Merge with this system.
I will suggest u to choose 1 & 2 option.choose urself.
Thanx.
if u can't understand than plz clarify the problem.

When I read what you have stated here, i went back to the times when i was confused in my new job. Like you, I initially specialised only in
recruitment....but in my current job, i am asked to handle everything manpower planning to Employee Exit on my own.

This is indeed a challenge. However, we must accept challenges where we see a scope for our own development. You are widening your horizons while being in the generalist HR field. And what is most important is YOUR INTEREST in the work.

If i understand you correctly, you are quite enthusiastic about your new role. Speak to your MD about your wish to learn more from this job. your boss is the best person to guide you since it is his expectations and assessment that carries more weight. Also, you can interact with the different functional counterparts like Finance, operations etc.

The last but not the least, read more and more about the company values and goals and the best practices, if any in your organisation. And of course, you have this wonderful community CITE HR!!!

But please never think of quitting... unless that you are not ambitious!!!

Hope my words prove helpful....

Best of Luck....Deepa :icon1:

Thank you very much seniors.....for your valuable suggestions....but i want to clearify the current situation in my company....what i think is everybody have some excitment to come to there office..to work there...or love to work there...but when i wake up in morning i dont feel this things..and at my past working place...i used to enjoy working ....i am not telling that you all are wrong...u all are right..i know i should accept the challenges...but when i will not have an feeling from within..what should i do? after doing recruitment exp..i was thinking that now i will work work under an experience HR manager..learn all the activities carried by an HR manager..then i will go for managerial profile...this is what i think....
Now i want your suggestion....my MD wants me to something new..but i want is i should have an manager to whom i can concern, ican discuss the problems..My MD just take out the negative points from my work..which demotivate me..
Awaiting your reply.
