Good evening to all,
We have three shift working i.e., 6 AM to 2PM; 2PM to 10 PM and 10 PM to 6 AM.
However, our manufacturing plants are located quite far from city. Therefore, virtually, employees are spending 4 hours travel time to and fro, and 8 hours duty i.e., 12 hours daily. Employees are feeling taxing.
Transportation is company arrangement only.
we are now thinking of 12 hours shift instead of 8 hours shift which means, two shifts operation instead of 3 shifts operation and giving them off every alternate day.
Your comments whether it is ok from legal and operational point of view.

You can adopt 4:3 shift schedule.. 4 days working x 12 hours = 48 hours and remaining 3 days at a stretch weekend rest. this is good idea. Partho
