The basic aim of both is to find a resource for the company. My understanding is that recruitment is a procedure to fill lower and junior level jobs. It is to fill a vacancy with required skills.in this case, the selection happens that the candidate needs a job and so he is looking for you and you need a skilled resource and you found him.
However talent acquisition is associated with finding people with special traits and niche skills like leaders or drivers of performance or innovation etc. Probably it may not sound befitting the stature of such special talent if we say that we recruited him because in many cases those talents will not be looking for jobs but the corporate will be searching for them because they need them. So you need to acquire them. Acquiring any thing requires planning, strategy, investing and therefore ability to retain the possession for longer time.
this is only my understanding and attempt to explain it in a simple way.
Other views are welcome.

Dear colleague,
With the advent of new technologies, the need for competitive advantage and requirement of people with specialised knowledge, skills and leadership qualities, the traditional recruitment function has acquired focus of attracting and retaining such talented people in the organization. The traditional predominant interview method is now butressed with psycho-testing, personality tests and host of other processes fuelled by advances in insights gained from research in behavioural sciences strengthened by people analytics and it's application in acquiring quality /talented manpower is now being called talent acquisition.

Recruitment is the general word to describe the process of getting a manpower.
Basic requirements are spelt out and you have a wide variety and a large number to choose from.
Talent acquisition refers to recruiting a person with specific expertise and experience from a limited population.

Dear Anonymous from Ahmedabad,
I will use your query as an example to appeal to bloggers and the responders. Please excuse me.
When bloggers raise questions such as the one raised by you, for which answers can be found by searching the web, it will be more beneficial if the bloggers do some work and explain what they understand by the terms. For example, had you searched the web you would have found the answers in links such as at https://www.citehr.com/598563-what-d...uisitions.html
Had you done that you would have learnt more. Now some people may say that you have been spoon-fed and thus you MAY develop a "dependency culture".
I also wonder why you have decided to remain anonymous!
My advice to experts is to raise questions and ask the bloggers to do some work, rather than give answers on-a-plate.
I hope that my comments are taken in the right spirit.
