I am in a big dilemma . I was associated with a company (MNC) for about 7 months .However I had to resign after 7 months . In this regard I have served the notice period as stated by company .So I have resigned by following all the exit process with no issues from the HR. It is now 1 month since I have quit & I feel like getting back to my old company.
So I am planning to talk to my hiring manager & HR asking them to re-consider me. Kindly let me know if I would be considered for a re-hire, since I have stayed in the company for only 7 months & what are my chances of getting re-hired .Do you see any issues in the same.

Try taking to your old boss, may be there was nobody who has been hired till now in you position.
Form there you will get clarity, & then you can approach HR taking your boss's approach

You can discuss with HR ,as there are lots of companies they provide re joining to ex employees based on performance, behaviour and other HR factors. Under that policy they can consider you for rejoining.

Dear friends,
It is said and believed that - 'every grain (rice/wheat) has written on them the ultimate user's name on it' . So definitely you'll have your chances provided, subject to if's & but's. I'm eager to believe if your performance during your 7 months has really impressed them the one month absence is nothing. They might even consider scrapping your resignation letter and treating the absence of one month as LWP, Who knows? I don't think they would have filled up your vacancy within one month, but it depends...Try it out steadfastly, you can have your day soon. All the best.

Just walk up to the appointing authority with an application explaining the condition that made u decide to resign and request for reappointment.
u will be taken in based on your performance. there will be no need to go through any selection process again. your performance will speak for you . even if it is 60% you will still be taken Try you will lose nothing but may gain a lot.

I agree. I have seen it has been done, that employee left the job for new job by giving one months notice and after completion of all the formalites he left the job.In new job he was uncofortable, so he talked to his old boss. and old boss scrapped his resignation , marked his LWP and continued with his old role

First & foremost, it is quite usual for someone to feel uncomfortable in new surrounding, having been used to a certain way and now having to do things in a different way. When you join a new position, it is initially euphoria, followed by an awakening after the honeymoon period that well, may be its not a dream come true afterall. So, please be sure to thoroughly and logically evaluate the reasons why you'd want to quit the current job. Having said that, if you really want to get back to the previous job, you should talk to your previous boss. He/she may want to take you back depending on your past performance - on the job performance and how you carried yourself during your exit period. Afterall for a manger, it makes better sense to get a known face in than going through the trouble and uncertainities of hiring a new employee. I have seen such instances of employees joining back and staying productive and loyal to the organization for long afterwards

Dear All,

Being a HR Professional, I have seen numbers of cases where a employee thinks-up to move forward using his current job / organization as a step and thinks that moving forward should be the only aim in today fast life and professional environment. I am not blaming anyone on doing this as touching the heights is everyone's dream, but I just want to share that what should be our preference..?? Only moving forward or moving forward with a good organization..!!

Each and every time, the employees feels that my current organization is not fit for me and keep trying some where else for better job prospectus / position / salary package..!! In comparison to it, they forget that facilities, working environment, opportunities, etc, etc, they can get in the current organization by giving their best. They make their only aim to just ran to the top and at the earliest, and with the same mind set, they go ahead.

After sometime at the new place, they found that they got the better job prospectus / position / salary package but somewhere they are missing those facilities, working environment, opportunities, etc, etc, which was available in the old organization..!! They realize that, if they give a little bit more at their old organization, they might be achieved the same there too. After that, some tries for a new company and some approaches their old one.

So, what should be our preference..??

I request all of CiteHr members to please give your views on this. So, this could lead everybody to take a right decision before changing an ORGANIZATION...

Dear Vinayak, don't take this otherwise. This is just a view of mine. I will request you too to give your input that what make you to change the current organization and now what is making you to re-join the same back.

Are you and Anonymous one and the same? If so, people of have given you some sound ideas based on the limited information given by you. Hence, please let us know why you had to resign after 7 months? Also, kindly let us know why you want to rejoin the MNC?
Though you have gone through the exit process smoothly, did you have any issues with the manger whom you reported to or your colleagues?
