I have been offered the post of HR Associate by a reputed manufacturing company(I was on third party payroll) and my joining date was fixed as 1st Aug 11.At the time I was being offered I was already employed with a firm,getting my joining date I resigned from my firm I was working.
But after that they had been postponing my joining date for almost one and a half month.I was sitting at home and doing nothing in that duration waiting for my joining date.
Being frustrated I started looking for other opportunities and I got another offer so I had informed them about this, at that time the company recruiter said that you may go ahead with the offer you have but my consultancy recruiter said that you better wait for one more week and I will get your issue resolved.Today its almost 3 months I have'nt received any feedback on my joining date.My total exp is 1.7 yrs.
I want to ask that can we complain about any such situations we are faced?? Kindly help me through your valuable suggestions.

Coming through your 1.7 years experience, by now you can understand how an organization works and their methodology towards their own employees.
After learning about this offer that has been in pending for the last 3 months, I strongly advise you to seek for other opportunities. I also recommend not to follow the consultancy recruiters, who work on their monthly targets. If you deny this offer, your consultancy recruiter looses their commission money that they expect from the hiring company. Now, you can understand the background of their advise.
As everybody does agree, first impression is the last impression... if a company cannot build trust in you during the initial engagement, can you really expect a long term commitment with this company in future? Once you compromise yourself, you will have to compromise in many future situations.
Hence I sincerely recommend you to go ahead and find a better opportunity. You won't get any returns in positive by waiting for this company call or complaining on them... it will be just waste of your time, energy, and patience. Invest this frustration into a new opportunity and expect another better opportunity.
Convince yourself and think positive: whatever happens in life that happens for a good cause. Good luck!

Whether one agrees or not with Anil's explanation of the 'why' of the Consultancy recruiter's suggestion to you, don't you think YOU HAD AN OPTION TO IGNORE IT, especially given the facts that you are NOT a fresher & the company recruiter gave you a clear answer to your query?
And just give this aspect a thought: what do you wish to achieve by complaining about the situation--except wasting your time & loosing focus from YOUR NEXT CAREER STEP? In addition to what have been suggested to you, please be assured, a career is way beyond than one job offer or a rejection. As you rise the levels, you will realize why such a slip-up happens. Right now, use that intelligence and bring in the best change for yourself.
This incident is not an isolated or an unique event. You will master such endless delays and ambiguity in the process, as you work along with it. This will help you think clearly and talk straight when you are being interviewed. You would be now far more sensitive to any hint that comes your way.
One swallow doesn't make a summer, yet experience such as this smarten us. You must have noticed a statement in the letter of intent framed as shared below:
"The job offer remains valid if accepted or acknowledge with 15 days from now. In case no information is received within next 15 days , the job offer stands null and void."
Please include this in your communication, such as , when an offer is made and date of joining is shared. Please revert with an end date beyond which you will not join the firm.
The negotiation for salary stands the same ground. If you are clear about your market value and is more keen towards the take home, please communicate the lowest salary beyond which you will not consider the offer. Similarly , the designation and reporting will require equal amount of clarity. If possible ask for a day's schedule at the new job. If you are no getting any answers on reporting structures, take a particular area and question on whom to contact in case there is any escalation .
However, please ensure, you retain highest standard for grace and courtesy. Often a straight talk can be misjudged as audacity and become the reason for rejection.

Dear Garima,
The company had told you to go ahead with the other offer, Thus you cannot complain against the company. And there is no use complaining against your consultancy... They are not the employer you seek.
Whever you get job offers, there is no harm seeking advise from not just the consultancy but every one you know. But at the end, you have to weigh your options and take a judgement as to what is best for you.
If the company had not reverted to you for over a month there is less chance that they will close the loop in a weeks time.
You may wait, if doesn't mean loosing on other opportunity. But if you dont have the luxury of time, better grab the opportunity at hand.

But now I have lost all hopes regarding that offer and I am looking for a better opportunity.

I agree with you but as I told Anil I was tempted at that time to grab the offer of a reputed firm so I did'nt ignored her suggestion.But this event definitely gave me a lesson.
