If this employee is a PF pensioner or has withdrawn his PF accumulations, then he can be excluded from the coverage of PF when re employed. Person applied for pension and withdrawal of PF shall be considered as a pensioner or one who has withdrawn the PF. Only thing to be noted is that the employee joining should be either a PF pensioner or should have withdrawn the PF accumulations on attaining the age of retirement. That is to say if a government pensioner joins your establishment, he should be covered since he is not a PF pensioner.

Madhu,
In the above case, withdrawal of PF is applied for, but not yet completed.
So in such a case what happens ?
They have to,continue PF ?
Will the withdrawal process stop ?
And just wondering, if he is above 58 does the answer change ?

Govt employee who retired on superannuation ie 58 years or 60 years as the case may be, not eligible for EPF. The criterion for EPF is for 58 years (recently it is enhanced to 60 years). Whether, he got the pension or not, whether, he withdrew PF or not, not eligible for EPF. Now a days organisations, other than exempted organisations are bound to implement EPF. But those who are less than 58/60 years, certainly can join into the scheme. Independent establishments and contractors are not recruiting people who are otherwise 58/60 years.
