Dear Reader,

I am working in a private limited company.

I am 8th month pregnant and i have informed my company in 3rd month of my pregnancy that i will be going on maternity leave as i am the only Hr in the company and even 1st lady to go on maternity.

I will be completing 3yrs on 30th sept 2014 with the same organisation.

last week i meet with my doctor and they told me due to my condition they will be making my delivery 3 weeks prior than my expected date.

I reconfirm with my directors to please inform me in writing that how much would be my maternity leaves and benefit.

Their answers was we will only provide 3 month leave and during that period you will be entitled with only basic salary.

Please let me know the correct maternity benefit which i can demand and that should be legal for every company and employee as i have checked on this site itself that full wages are entitled plus some medical benefit.

please every one do let me know as i am in trouble and in big tension becoz of their decision.

Thanks a lot

Rashmi

Dear member,
1. I think, you may not be covered under ESI Act, 1948 and may be claiming maternity benefit from employer under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
2. I will suggest you to please read following threads in this citeHR on the same subject. Perhaps, these may be relevant and helpful in your case:-
