Dear all,

In my company my BM is unprofessionally behaving to the employees and especially to me. One incidence I can quote. Yesterday there was a doctor's meet in coimbatore where I am in charge and working Sales Manager of the sub branch. The BM came to attend without informing me with a team from his office and participated inthe meet. I was also there in the meet and I greeted in the morning itself but he has not responded to me and not even talked to me and not enquired about my office or my team or our performance. Since I took charge in Coimbatore itself he was very jealousy. I am being taught and learned that A Senior Branch Manager should motivate and Cheer his subordinates and equals and has extend all the support. But for the past one year I am getting such impression. I don't know whether it is my mistake or his. But I heard from his office that he is like that only. I am so embarassed with his work culture also. He got promotion after I joined in Coimbatore. I am not ale to tackle him and I need your suggestion and advice.

Dear Padmanabhan,
The case that you have mentioned that describes typical saying "people join companies but they leave their managers". I can understand your challenge. It is not easy to put up with frosty senior for a year or so.
Have you tried talking to him in private? Did you try to understand the cause of his behaviour? Unless you meet him, it will not be possible to remove the misunderstanding.
The next step that I recommend you is approaching your HR Manager. In fact to handle this case, even the level HR Manager is not sufficient. It has to be GM or VP (HR). Find out what they say.
If HR does not do anything or take it nonchalantly then you may start looking for better opportunity.
