Now a days most of the companies (Except BPO, KPO) are also working 15-17 hours.

Independence day but that day also some of the companies are working, their HR Department informed other department that they can work. Also HR Seniors make a policy for the company in disciplinary point of view that everybody has to come on time, if their employee gets late they will cut the salary or their leave this is okay.

But HR Dept. is the mediator between employer and employee. When employee of any department (most likely finance dept.) works upto 14-18 hours of the day and as per the policy they have to come on time then how employee will react? Some where HR Dept. has to make provision. Otherwise employee gets frustrate and leave the company. Now a days, companies are paying good salary and allowances against dinner and late sitting but if old employee or good caliber employee we can not get. So it is important for a company to stable their staff for a long period.

May be my point of view is wrong? Any expert comments on this topic.

Hello
Though many companies are working for more than scheduled hours of 8 hours
It is always a problem if you engage the employees for more than 8 hours or we have to pay OT charges
Even for staff level , we cannot pressurise them , to work for 15-17 hours every day
As per factories act 1948 , an employee cannot be asked to work for more than 13 hours , for this we need to get special permission from Area Factory inspectorate

Thank you Mr. Sudharkar, I thought nobody is watching this topic. But sir, though company are paying OT Charges (Most of the company's are paying late night allowance) they have to think about their employees health also. What about Independence day?
In my own company we are paying grade vice late night allowance which is not more than Rs.45/- for dinner and transport charges. In such case how employee can work?
But thanks for your information

Dear Sudhakar,
I am agreed with your view.
But people are not fight for their right. They fight only for the salary. They will sacrifies any thing for the salary. This is the prevailing condition.
But people should aware that the 8 hour duty is found after Industrial revolution in britain and its the one among the ratified ILO convention in India!.Our manmohan is speaking about 123 but neglected about Workers right!.
Very Shamful to Left parties!.
Warm Regards,
