From "shardadevi" : HI I WANT TO KNOW HOW HUCH MAXIMUM AMOUNT SHALL WE DEDUCT FROM ESI ACT ? THANKS DILIP
16th July 2007 From India, Pune

Hi Dilip,
The ceiling amount to be covered under ESI Act is 10000/- rupees gross per month.. And 1.75% of gross per month is been deducted from Employee side whereas 4.75% of the same is been deducted from the employer side..
So the maximum deduction of ESI Act from an employee can be
1.75% of 10000/- = Rupees 175/- only.. Whereas, from the employer side it would be 4.75% of 10000/- = Rupees 475/- only..
Hope now your query will be cleared..
