MEMBERSHIP:
At the inception of the scheme an employee who was in receipt of pay up to p.m. , and who worked for one year was eligible for membership of the fund. As a result of amendments made from time to time , the conditions of eligibility for membership of the fund have been liberalised in favour of employee. Presently an employee at the time of joining the employment and getting wages upto is required to become a member. Now an employee is eligible for membership of fund from the very first date of joining a covered establishment.

Hi Chaitali,
U can start the deduction of PF in case of excluded employees(i.e. above 6500/-) now.
First of all pl decide with your employer about the contribution paid by him i.e. upto Prescribed limit or on entire pay.(basic +d.a.)
There after U have to deduct 12% from the pay and employer has to contribute as decided.
Pl also fill up Nomination Form No 2 and also submit the joint declaration to PF authority (employee's as well as employer's) as per para 26 of the EPF Scheme. Kindly contact me for any further help.
