Dear Mr.Shri Hari,
PPF is Public Provident Fund Scheme. PF scheme started for employees.
PPF started for Public - not employing any where, but employees, covered
by PF can also join.
This scheme is available at Post Office as well as SBI and has various
branches. It is very safe. You may contact the in-charge of Post Office
or SBI of the branch.

There is a scheme which runs similar to PPF but gives life insurance 250 times of your fixed monthly contribution. The returns are likely to be equal to if not better than PPF.
The scheme offers ECS facility too.
It is called Jeevan Saral by LIC.
Those interested can contact me on or call 9322250852. Mumbai only.
