Hello,

As per the present structure for the salaried people, there is no professional tax below Rs 3,000 per month. While between Rs 3,000 and Rs 6,000, the tax is Rs 20 per month. Between Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 per month, the tax is Rs 40 per month.

For a monthly salary of Rs 9,000 to Rs 12,000, the tax is Rs 60 per month. While the tax is Rs 80 per month for monthly salary upwards of Rs 12,000 per month.

Thanks
Rachana

If there is no Employer-Employee Relationship, and the Stipend is being paid to compensate students of academic expenses, like in case of CA/ CS articleship, whether the Trainer Company still has the authority to deduct Professional Tax in State of Gujarat.

I have a query for the Professional Tax Slab, if an employee has a Salary of Rs. 10000/- and he joins a company from the 11th and his Salary for that month will be 6774/- , now if he is from Gujarat how much Professional Tax will be deducted ?

dakhseshnaik - Member Since: Aug 2007
What I assume according to the Tax Slab, the Professional Tax Cut from the Salary of Rs 6774/- should be Rs. 80/- so the net salary should be Rs.6694/-. Please let me know if I am correct. the Professional Tax slab for Gujarat is as Below:

(i) Less than Rs. 3000/ Zero
(ii) Rs. 3000/- or more but less than Rs. 6000/ - 20/-

(iii) Rs. 6000/- or more but less than Rs. 9000/- 80/-
(iv) Rs. 9000/-or more but less than Rs. 12000/- 150/-

(v) Rs. 12000/- or more. 200/-
