I am an HR professional with over 7 years of experience in almost all areas of HR, except Payroll and Compensation.
Recently, I have noticed a major trend of outsourcing HR processes to external vendors, particularly in Payroll, and engaging consultants for conducting studies and surveys on Compensation.
I believe that these vendors, companies, or consultants offering Payroll services, Payroll Software, or conducting Survey studies, will require professionals with an understanding of the Indian Payroll System.
I am curious if there are courses or guides available to obtain basic knowledge of the payroll system. For instance:
1) Basic components of Pay Structure / Package;
2) Statutory deductions:
a) Various Acts and sections to be considered
3) Special Components of Pay Structure
4) Reimbursements
5) Allowances - LTA, Telephone
6) Cash Benefits - Bonus, Incentives, etc.
Despite my years in HR, I only grasp the fundamental aspects of payroll and not the more intricate concepts related to it.
Hence, I am exploring if there are specialized courses lasting 3-6 months that can equip a general HR professional with in-depth knowledge of Payroll and Compensation.
Recently, I have been researching Payroll extensively and found institutions and associations in the US, Canada, and the UK offering payroll certifications, but none in India.
I recognize that Payroll is a specialized field in India as well, and there should be corresponding courses and certifications. I am actively seeking such opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge in this area.
Any information on this matter would be highly appreciated.
