Dear friend,
Professional Tax (P.Tax) is to be deducted from your salary depending on the location of your company, as P.Tax is a state tax. Please mention the name of the state where you are situated.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for the information. I read your reply stating that there is no Professional Tax (PT) in Delhi. However, in my previous organization, which is also an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) registered under Section 25 of the Societies Act (as a private limited company), they have been deducting my PT amount for the last two years.
Is there any possibility of receiving a refund from the PT office? Please advise me on this matter.
Thank you and regards,
Albert

Dear Friend,
As you mentioned that your previous employer had deducted P.Tax from your salary, if the registered office of the company is not situated in Delhi, they cannot deduct the P.Tax. If they wrongly deducted it, they are obligated to refund it. First, confirm whether the registered office of the company is located in Delhi. If not, please provide me with the name of the company, and I will investigate.

Dear Sir,
I have discovered that the registered office is in Chennai. I am currently employed by an International Non-Governmental Organization that is registered in Chennai. Previously, I was based in Bhopal (M.P) before being transferred to Delhi. However, the organization is still deducting the Professional Tax amount from our salaries.
Could you please confirm if this practice is correct?
Thank you.

Dear Deepak,
I am working in a software company in Chennai. I want to deduct professional tax for our employees. Kindly let me know the slab to deduct PT. I have a slab stating that if the half-yearly income is such and such, then the PT is as follows. I want to clarify that if a person's salary is Rs. 15,000 per month, then what amount do I have to deduct as PT? Should I deduct the PT at the end, i.e., on the March salary? Kindly let me know at the earliest so that I can deduct the same in this March salary.

Dear all,
Can anyone help me out with the PT office address in Madhya Pradesh? Also, please suggest as we don't have an office in M.P., but our employees are deployed there. Hence, PT is deducted from their salaries, but we are unable to deposit it with the respective authority (as we don't have an office and, therefore, no registration for PT). Please advise.
