Hi Usha,
Before I reply, I would like to know what your qualifications are. Basically, an IT recruitment job requires a person from any educational background. The only requirements are good communication skills, understanding of technologies, and some other factors.
However, for HR roles, a person should have knowledge of recruitment, performance appraisal, statutory compliance (Acts), and industrial relations (this is for Core HR). Many companies (MNCs) are recruiting HR specialists, which means specialization in specific areas like recruitment, performance appraisal, statutory compliance (Acts), and industrial relations.
If you would like more details about HR, please email me at raju.viswanath@gmail.com.

Hi,
I strongly believe that an MBA is the key to unlocking the door to HR. However, if you feel that you don't have the time or patience to commit to a two-year MBA program and have concerns about the market conditions after two years, then it's time to focus on enhancing your HR skills. The initial step is to understand the core HR activities within your company. You can gather this information from your colleagues in the same organization. Create a list of topics you need to familiarize yourself with and start preparing on them. This preparation phase may take another 6 to 8 months of dedicated effort. Following this, you can pursue a transition into a general HR role by requesting a change after 8 months of thorough preparation in these areas. Most reputable companies provide opportunities for such career advancements.
If you have any queries or require further guidance, please feel free to email me at u.b.ramprasad@hotmail.com. I can provide you with a detailed list of HR activities that you should focus on.
Best regards,
Ram
