Dear Friends,
I want to propose to my CEO the idea of having light music in our office. Please suggest the best way I can do this. Also, if you know of any music, such as Tabla, that has scientifically proven benefits in keeping one's mind fresh throughout the day, please recommend it.
Eagerly awaiting your reply.

Hi, Your idea is of light music is very good. But i would rather suggest you to keep focus on music based on sexophone which has deep impact on keep minds out of stress.

That's a really good idea. Even my company is working on the same lines. I have suggested incorporating some light saxophone and flute music. These light musical instruments are very soothing and can help reduce stress at work.

Hi all,
Introducing music is one of the finest things organizations can do. In our unit, we would play music a little before the office starts, continue it until sometime after office hours, during lunch hours, and a little before the office is about to end. This practice stimulated the minds of people, making them work actively.
Another suggestion I can offer is to go for instrumentals. They create a smooth ambiance and the effectiveness that you want to have in your office. There are various instrumentals you can find at Planet M or musical stores (you can try them before buying). However, do not keep the music on for the entire duration. Otherwise, it will diminish the impact that you are actually trying to achieve.

I agree wholeheartedly with Rupa.
Most of the music on Planet M and at times Music is pretty good.
You all can also try out the melodies of Ragas that have a very important impact on people's lives since the Rig Vedic age.
Ragas are currently being researched by ITC Ltd. in their Sangeet Research Academy.
Hi friends, this is basically for all the Hindustani classical music lovers out there. I've found a really great site created by the ITC Sangeet Research Academy that boasts a really good archive. Ranging from the revered Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan to Rashid Khan, from Ali Akbar Khan to the santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, the site hosts sample music clips from the most eminent personalities in the realm of traditional classical music. The search facility is available by artist and by raga. Music can be heard online with a RealOne Player, which is available for free download. This site can provide you with the essence of pure raga-based music. I sincerely hope you like the site. Here is the link. Enjoy.

Hi Pratik,
I registered at this site, and the best thing I saw was it has ragas to be played at all hours – for morning, evening, dusk, midnight, all different.
I still have to access it more. Then I will let you know about it.
Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure... Since raagas are a part of Vedic management that I'm researching currently, could you please share the experience of using it in your organization? It will help me immensely.
And more than just using the names of the raagas that are on the site for morning, evening, etc., hear it out in peace and tranquility and see if it helps create a desired effect. Then you'll get the immense benefit that it is supposed to have.

Dear all,
I am a PhD Candidate and Music Consultant currently researching the effects of music listening in offices. Music can be hugely beneficial for some but very distracting for others. I would say that there are no easy answers to how music can best be used in an office or what kind of music is most beneficial. Music taste is very personal, and there is no "universal" music that we all react to in the same way. It is individual and influenced by personal, social, and cultural factors.
There are many complex factors to be aware of. The best approach is to evaluate and analyze each office environment on a case-by-case basis to find the right balance.
Please visit my website www.musicatwork.net for more information or contact me.
