Dear Jothi,

Thanks for reintroducing me to Athichhodi Konraivendhan and others after nearly 40 years. It's been a great reading experience, and I wonder how I lost touch with these great pieces of work by Avvaiyar.

Thanks once again,
Siva

I am yet to go through all, but I recollected whatever I read in my childhood.

Hi Jyothi,

This is great work, and thanks a lot for this. Arun, to answer your question, it is in Tamil and it is actually on the front page itself. It is called Aathichoodi.

Aathichoodi is a collection of single-line quotes written by Avvaiyar and organized in alphabetical order. There are 108 of these sacred lines, which include "A turtle is a turtle, never a tortoise," "Look out of the window, see your life reflected in the bushes and the trees and the glossy meadows and live," "You are worth more than what you do, but less than what you think," "What you know is where you'll go," "Life is for giving, not for living," and the most famous "A life is never wasted, even the smallest deeds make every life worthwhile" and other expressions intended to address everyday problems.

Vivek, translating this into English is not child's play, and in case I come across a version in English, I shall post it for the benefit of all. Kindly go through the link to understand what this is all about and who has written this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avvaiyar

Jyothi, thanks once again.

Hi, thank you for the post. However, my limited linguistic skills prevent me from reading your beautiful article. The praises for it make me realize that I have missed something great. Could you please send an English version of it or just a summary? It would be great if you could do that.

Regards,
Suzi
