Dear Seniors,
I have received a couple of offers from two multinational HR consultants. However, I was informed by both companies that they operate on a target basis. Being new to the industry, I didn't fully grasp the concept at first. I inquired if there were any incentives tied to it, and the response was somewhat vague.
I was simply told that there is an annual target that is broken down into quarterly and monthly goals based on the billed amount to clients. Additionally, both companies cautioned me about the level of peer pressure I may encounter.
Could you kindly advise me on what I should expect? Is this the right career move in HR? Will I have the opportunity to transition into HR/Recruitment departments within corporates in the future?
Thank you,
Priyanka

Hi Priyanka,
I suggest you join a consultancy to kickstart your career in recruitment. Don't think about money because you will get to learn many things in a consultancy. Here, you will learn end-to-end recruitment better than in a company.
Once you gain experience, then consider moving to a company. Companies will be more likely to hire you with consultancy recruitment experience.

Hi Priyankarun!
If you want to make your career in recruitment, consultancy is the best place to start. It allows you to understand all the details and complications involved in resourcing, even the minute ones.
When it comes to targets, you'll have to meet them regardless of where you work, except for a few organizations. Consider it a challenge. Once you dive into it, you'll find joy in the work and the peer pressure.
For more queries, feel free to contact me.
