Hi, I am new to this site. I would like to know if tax deduction for men is different from that of women. If yes, what is the percentage? I am in Chennai, will it differ from place to place? And is there any such difference in professional tax too?

Hi Professional tax is the same for men and women. Income Tax is the same for the entire India. For men, Tax-free income is up to 1,10,000. For women, Tax-free income is up to 1,45,000. Apart from the above, there are certain income head exemptions which you will need to consider before you deduct the tax. My suggestion would be to get a good CA who will help you consolidate the tax matters of your employees. Hope it helps you. Richa
