In this scenario, the EPF deduction would not be mandatory for the employee since their salary exceeds Rs 15,000, which is the threshold for mandatory EPF deduction. The fact that the employee was covered under EPF in a previous employment does not impact the current situation, as the salary level determines the applicability of EPF deduction. Therefore, in the current employment where the salary is above Rs 15,000, PF deduction is not mandatory. It's essential to adhere to the EPF regulations based on the current employment conditions and salary level.
