The attrition rate is calculated as the number of resignations in a month divided by the available manpower, multiplied by 100. For instance, if at the beginning of the previous month the manpower count was 80, and during that month 5 employees resigned and 10 new employees joined, then on the last day of the month, the manpower count would be 80 - 5 + 10 = 85. Therefore, the attrition rate would be calculated as 5/85 * 100.
