Hello All,
I want clarification on following scenario of promotion with reference to central Government DOPT circular or guidelines.
1)DOPT Promotion rule for employee who has resigned & relieved from service during probation period of promotion. Whether
promotion of that employee will stand good or revoked?

2)DOPT Promotion rule when DPC is formed during notice period of resignation. Whether employee will
get promotion or he will be deprived from benefits of promotion?

Hi Kiran,

DOPT (Department of Personnel and Training) circulars or guidelines issued after that date. Additionally, the information available to me is general in nature, and specific rules may vary based on the nature of employment and government regulations.
That being said, I can provide some general information on the topics you've mentioned:

Resignation during Probation Period of Promotion:
In the case of an employee who has resigned and been relieved from service during the probation period of promotion, the impact on the promotion would depend on the specific rules and guidelines in place.
Some organizations may allow the promotion to stand if the resignation occurred after the completion of a minimum period of probation, while others may revoke the promotion.
It's important to refer to the specific rules and guidelines of the concerned department or organization, and DOPT circulars that may address this issue directly.

DPC Formed During Notice Period of Resignation:
If a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) is formed during the notice period of an employee who has submitted resignation, the treatment of the promotion may again depend on the specific rules and regulations in place.
In some cases, an employee may still be considered for promotion if the DPC process has been initiated during the notice period, and the individual fulfills the eligibility criteria.
However, the final decision may depend on the organization's policies and the circumstances surrounding the resignation.

For accurate and up-to-date information, it is advisable to refer to the latest DOPT circulars and guidelines issued by the relevant authorities. You can check the official DOPT website for the most recent and specific information on promotion rules and procedures.

Thanks,
