Document Management in Kerala and Karnataka
The basic documents to be kept in hard form are the registration certificate and muster rolls. Documents like service records, gratuity nomination forms, etc., can be maintained in soft form since everything is 'online'. In Kerala, everything is online, and you need not go to any consultant's office to get it done, nor do you need to visit the Labour Office to collect it. However, in Karnataka, you cannot click your cursor on certain fields; you have to seek the help of 'consultants' engaged by the labour inspectors! In effect, it is offline only.
