The basic documents to be kept in hard form are the Registration certificate and Muster rolls. Documents like service records, gratuity nomination form, etc., can be maintained in soft form since everything is 'online'. In Kerala, everything is online, but it is online by all means, and you need not go to any consultant's office to get it done, nor do you require to visit the Labour Office to collect it. However, in Karnataka, you cannot click your cursor on certain fields; you have to seek the help of 'consultants' engaged by the labour inspectors! In effect, it is offline only.
