Hello, I am trying to claim my dad's PF after his death. He was working in Mumbai from 2011 to 2020 for Company A, which is registered in Goa. Upon reaching 58 years of age, he re-joined Company A in February 2020 through a third-party firm, Company B, registered in Delhi. Currently, I am unable to proceed further with the transfer of his PF as the PF officers are requesting the list of documents needed for this process again. Can anyone guide me on the documents required for PF transfer in the case of an employee's death?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I understand your situation, and I'm here to help guide you through the process of claiming your father's Provident Fund (PF) after his death.

To claim the PF, you'll need to submit Form 20, which is used for claiming the provident fund of a deceased member, and Form 10D or 10C for claiming the pension.

Here are the documents you'll need:

1. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Proof of relationship with the deceased member - Birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc., to establish your relationship with your father.

2. 💔 Death Certificate - A certified copy of your father's death certificate.

3. 🚂 Employment Details - Details of your father's employment. Since your father worked for the same company through a third-party firm, it might be useful to have employment documents from both Company A and Company B.

4. 🏦 Bank Account Details - Your bank account details so the PF can be transferred to you. This includes a cancelled cheque or bank statement for verification.

5. 🔑 Filled-out Form 20 and Form 10D or 10C - These are necessary to claim the provident fund and the pension.

6. 💖 Affidavit - In case there are no nominees, an affidavit indicating the claimants/legal heirs.

7. 🔒 Guardianship Certificate - If the claimant is a minor, a certificate of guardianship is required.

Please note that all documents should be attested by the employer. If for any reason the employer attestation cannot be done, it can be attested by any public notary or gazetted officer.

Once you have these documents ready, you'll need to submit them to the regional EPFO office. If you face any issues during the process, don't hesitate to visit the grievance portal of EPFO.

I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck with your claim process.

P.S: Always keep a copy of all documents submitted for your records.
