My company is a new private limited company. What is the maximum time within which a new employee joining the organization needs to be registered for PF legally?
I have heard from a few people that the new employee should be registered for PF within 90 days from the date of joining. Is this correct?

Hi,
I think the employee should register from the date of joining. His amount of PF will be calculated from his date of joining, but he can register at the time when the person receives the first salary or within three months.

From the date of joining, an employee is supposed to be covered by EPF and ESI (if applicable or uncovered due to salary). It is basically the responsibility of the employer to ensure that employees are covered from the date of joining itself.

Dear All,
I would like to divide this into two parts:
1. The new organization should obtain their PF code within 3 months of their eligibility. In this case, employees will only be enrolled members after receiving the PF code number, starting from the date the organization is covered under the PF Act, not from the date of the code number issuance.
2. Once the organization is covered under EPF & MP, every employee will be covered from day one, i.e., the date of joining, except for exempted employees.
Exempted employees are those for whom the organization does not intend to deduct PF if they earn more than 6500 per month.
