"Do We, Human Beings, Work for 'Bread Alone'?"

Point to Ponder:

"Do We, Human Beings, Work for 'Bread Alone'?"

1. If yes, why so?
2. If no, why so?

Responses may indicate if "things are undergoing change due to the onset of digitalized living," as it were. Just curious.

We don’t live for bread alone, nor do we work for it alone. Work has to satisfy many needs, from existential needs to the sublime reason of realising self.

Dear Mr. Harsh K. Sharan, I am able to understand the concept of digital life, which essentially integrates the primary source of your earning with the place of your living, thus enabling you to exercise more control over your time and energy. If we analyze the "Hierarchy of Needs" propounded by Maslow, although doing some work to eke out a living is a basic or physiological need for our subsistence, the ultimate self-actualization need that converts mere subsistence into a more meaningful existence also requires some sort of activity or work. Remaining simply idle for mankind is impossible. Therefore, no one works simply for the sake of bread, though it is a primary motivator.
