Dear all, I am requesting you all to kindly provide information about my query regarding PF exemption salary:

1) If any employee (experienced or fresher) is drawing a gross salary above 15,000, are they eligible for PF?
2) If any employee (experienced or fresher) is drawing their Basic + DA above 15,000, are they eligible for PF?

I am seeking clarification on whether PF exemption salary is considered based on an employee's Gross salary or their Basic + DA. Also, how can employees be exempted from PF contributions?

I would appreciate it if someone could kindly provide the necessary information to me.

In India, for PF eligibility, the salary considered is the Basic + DA. If an employee's Basic + DA is above 15,000, they are not eligible for PF contributions. However, if the Gross salary is above 15,000 but the Basic + DA is below 15,000, the employee will still be eligible for PF deductions. To be exempted from PF contributions, the employer and employee can mutually agree to limit the PF contribution to the statutory limit of 15,000. This agreement needs to be documented and submitted to the PF authorities for approval. It's essential to ensure compliance with the EPF Act and regulations while implementing such exemptions.
