Is there any reservation policy for hometown candidates?
For example, one central government office (an Autonomous body) is located in a village. Candidates from that village apply for various posts in that office based on their eligibility (qualification and experience) - if matched. Now, they are claiming reservation for hometown candidates as requested.
In view of the above, is it possible to consider this or are there any rules regarding this? Kindly let me know.

Hi,
There is no such policy of reservation as of now. If it is there, then it is governed by the state government. For example, in Himachal Pradesh (H.P.), it was made mandatory by the state government that every employer is supposed to keep 70% of people from Himachal in their company in order to provide employment in their state.

Why are you not recruiting locals matching the qualifications and skills for vacant posts, and why do you prefer an outsider for that position?
As there is hardly any reservation quota, every state government has guidelines for all employers to give first preference to locals who match the requisite qualifications and experience for vacant positions. Employers mostly do not prefer local candidates due to a certain mindset.
To address your concerns, you can modify the terms of appointment to give top priority to locals and prevent unrest.
