Hi,
There are multiple interpretations. The employee will not work during the suspension period, and he/she is eligible for a subsistence allowance. There is no salary paid, and there is no scope for statutory deduction. However, there have been court verdicts in favor of statutory deduction during the suspension period. Please refer to the following link: [Business Standard article on PF contribution during suspension](https://www.business-standard.com/article/specials/pf-contribution-to-continue-even-during-suspension-197100201152_1.html).
It is better if you consult a Labor Advocate/Labor Consultant.
